The extra hour and the sounds of a horn helped Chris and I wake up early. The horn was blowing every 2 minutes or so due to the heavy fog we were traveling though on our way to Iceland. We dressed and went for coffee and some laps around the promenade deck. It was still damp and about 55 degrees. Not a day for the pool although we did see two people in the pool later as well as kids in the children’s pool. We met up with Veronica for some breakfast and she was off to find her friends. We didn’t meet up with her until noon for lunch. We ate at the buffet and sat outside which wasn’t too chilly. The Indian food was great as usual. We told Veronica to meet up with us for Harry Potter trivia at 1:45pm. Chris and I walked some more and then played some cards in the Galaxy lounge. The lounge was very busy as most people did not want to be outside today. Harry Potter trivia had quite the turnout. We did pretty good but didn’t know Dumbledore’s full name or how many staircases Hogwarts has. We both went back to relax and shower for dinner. Before dinner, we had a cocktail and played..yes..trivia. I decided to get a martini tonight while Chris had a Negroni. The lounge was still crowded. The bar staff was very busy and I think our bartender was not used to working there. He asked three times what type of martini I wanted. “Vodka?” “Gin.” A few seconds later, “Vodka?” “Gin”. He did get excited when Chris ordered a Negroni saying, “I know how to make that.” He poured something from a strange bottle and gave Chris a very pale drink. Not a Negroni. It was premade Sidecar. One of our regular bartenders there, made Chris a proper Negroni. It gave us quite the chuckle. Time for dinner and Veronica was joining her friends for dinner at the buffet later. We also chose the buffet. We were not big fans of the main dining room choices and both wanted more vegetables and salads. On longer cruises, we find the buffet helps us pick healthier options. Tonight, we both had them make huge vegetable stir fry with bok choy, carrots, cauliflower and onions. They had tons of different sauces and spices. Chris asked for spicy…10/10 and he got what he wanted! After dinner, we went to pub trivia where we lost our rivals by one question. We went to listen to the jazz club in Champagne Charlies. The showband is very talented and has even a few Americans! We went to the late show which was Katia and Zenia. It was a ballroom dance show which is one of my passions. The show was good but could use a bit of tweaking to make it great. He was the stronger dancer of the two. He had higher energy and better movement. They danced paso doble, waltz, jive, cha cha, rumba, samba and tango to a variety of music. They did a few quick changes near the end as well. I am not sure the show would be great for those not a fan of ballroom. It was not heavy on tricks and was pure dancing. Ending the evening was Norwegians Night Out Party. We popped in for a nightcap and watched the dancers packing the floor. We were both tired so we returned to the cabin so relax. Not much on the TV unless you knew Spanish tonight. We dozed off to ready ourselves for Iceland tomorrow.
