I was up early even with the time change last night to put us on Bermuda time, so I let Veronica sleep and enjoyed some nice, quiet casino time. I waited until she woke up to have breakfast with her at the Local. We both tried the French Toast and were shocked at how quick our order appeared.
Since this is the first cruise that Veronica can gamble, I gave her some money to give it a try. It was fun playing next to each other. I wanted to get some steps in so we took a stroll around the ship and ended up in the Vibe. We didn’t have our bathing suits on yet so we just enjoyed a nice view with a Pimm’s cup and some water. It is very nice getting a carafe of water delivered to the chair. The sun was starting to break through the haze which made us decide to come back later in our bathing suits. For lunch, we ended up right back at the Local. It was chicken wings and a salad for Veronica and a Ruben for myself. Once again, the food did not disappoint. I wanted some champagne to have at trivia but the Atrium bar only had Prosecco. We did find some and returned to a crowd waiting for trivia. Luckily, two seats became available at the bar. We did decent at 80s trivia with a score of 16 but lost to someone with 17. A quick stop back to the cabin to change into our bathing suits was next. We found seats partially shaded by an umbrella in Vibe but the hot tubs were packed. I decided to write for a bit and Veronica relaxed. The hot tubbers were not moving on our side so I went to the other side to see if that had any room. Nope. It was a little disappointing, but I had the idea to try Spice since there is a huge, shaded hot tub there. Nope. Super crowded in that one as well. It was back to the cabin to take showers and change. Our next plan, was to head to the Observation Lounge for a drink and some snacks. The bar area was closed for a private function. I couldn’t remember when the Latitudes party was but this was it. Since I wasn’t sure, we had a light snack and went to Maltings for my cocktail. I wanted to have a Manhattan with Whistle Pig Rye. It did not disappoint. We discussed what to do next and decided to try the “coin pusher” game in the casino. I know it is not a great play but we had fun with a small amount of money. I even won on of the folded bills which sadly had one dollars on the inside. On the way to Food Republic, I stopped at the Cellars. I wanted a nice white wine to have with dinner. The bartender gave me a great Chablis, and a real healthy pour of it. Veronica had a Chenin Blanc that I had tried previously. Both wines went great with our dinner. We shared just one credit since it entitles you to four options. We had rock shrimp sushi, tuna poke nachos, Korean fried chicken, and shrimp pad Thai. It was plenty of food! We wandered about the ship after dinner. The only show we went to was the Late Night adult comedy. We only lasted about 15 minutes. I don’t think laughed once so we bounced. Sitting in the back was a smart choice. It was back to the cabin to rest up for our arrival in Bermuda. Cruise Planners is offering you a chance to win a $250 American Express Gift Card.
