We woke up really early thanks to the extra hour. I enjoyed a luxurious cup of coffee in bed made by Chris to start the day. Instead of walking on the treadmill, we decided to get our steps in walking throughout the ship. It was quite easy to go one mile on this giant ship. We ended our walk in the Horizon lounge which is the private observation lounge for Haven passengers. We each tried the most delicious almond croissant before going to a sit down breakfast in the Haven restaurant. We both had a cup of French press coffee with our breakfasts of Eggs Benedict for Chris and avocado toast minus the egg and feta for me. Another fabulous meal that has us not missing Crystal one bit.
We decided to try our best at morning trivia at 9:30 in the Atrium. It was well attended since it seemed many were up early today. The questions were easier than the Crystal variety and we won with a score of 16. After a quick stop in the cabin to change into our bathing suits, we returned to the Haven Courtyard. Chris read his book while I wrote. It was a perfect, relaxing temperature in the covered area. It was rainy but I could see bits of blue peeking through. We tested out the hot tub in the courtyard and decided to venture to the sun deck. It was a great choice. We easily found two covered lounge chairs and mellowed out in the breeze that truly felt amazing. It was reminiscent of my beloved couches on Crystal except much nicer with the perfect sea breeze that was dreamily perfect. Heaven in the Haven. We left the bit of perfection to have lunch in the Haven Restaurant. I started with the crudités and Chris had Seafood Fritto Misto. For our main, Chris had Israeli couscous salad and I had the Sesame Fish sandwich. My sandwich was fantastic. The ginger slaw was so refreshing and the sauce was very tasty. We shared a dessert at our server’s urging. We tried the pavlova which was delightful. We visited the Haven Bar after lunch and chatted with some passengers. The casino called our names before our Pub Crawl meetup at three. We killed some time there until our meet up at Maltings for our Facebook group. We both ordered a Woodford Old Fashioned which I think is one of the best beverages on the ship. We chatted up some new pals and then had to move to the next stop, Sugarcane. Chris didn’t want more mojitos so he still sipped his Old Fashioned. I ventured outside to the Waterfront to get a sustainable cocktail of the day which was made with watermelon rinds. I affectionately nicknamed them the trash drink of the day. But all jokes aside, I am helping the environment by drinking it. I brought a new friend outside to try it with me. The last stop of the crawl for us was Spice H2O. I still sipped on my trash drink while chatting. We decided to to another pub crawl the next sea day. Some of the crawlers were headed to the Local for some food and to watch the Super Bowl that was getting ready to start. We returned to the cabin to get ready for dinner. Chris was ready first so we decided to meet up at the Haven Bar for a pre-dinner cocktail. He was sipping a Boulevardier so I joined him. Chris was chatting with a woman about cruising and we found out she knew Mama Lee, the Crystal legend! Her daughter went to school with Mama Lee’s daughter and they are still close friends. A gentleman at the bar also said he knew her as well. What a small world! Dinner was in La Cucina as part of our Sapphire benefits. I had breasola and Chris had burrata. We also shared a pizza. For our main, I had shrimp ravioli and Chris had shrimp fra Diablo. We both enjoyed it and it was better then we remembered La Cucina. Dessert was pana cotta for me and tiramisu for Chris. We did some dancing in the Atrium to burn off some of our dinner. The duo was very good. Tonight’s show was magic in the main theater. It was an illusionist duo from Spain. It was OK but not the best show in my opinion. Granted, I have seen a ton of magic thanks to Chris so I am a tough critic. It was too many girl goes in a box type tricks. He also did shadow puppetry which was kind of lame to me. We hit the casino and enjoyed hearing the music from the Atrium while we played. It was off to bed around eleven since we were up at four!
